Steps:

1. Separate the Moka Pot

  • Unscrew the top from the bottom of the moka pot.
  • Remove the coffee filter basket.

2. Add Water

  • Fill the bottom chamber with water up to just below the safety valve.
  • Reinsert the coffee filter basket.

3. Add Coffee

  • Fill the filter basket with finely ground espresso.
  • Create a small mound and level it off gently with your finger.

4. Assemble the Moka Pot

  • Screw the top and bottom parts of the moka pot back together securely.

5. Heat the Moka Pot

  • Place the moka pot on your heat source at medium heat.
  • Listen for the water starting to bubble up through the coffee.

6. Turn Off the Heat

  • Once you hear bubbling and see the coffee rising, turn off the heat.
  • Wait until no more water comes out of the center spout, then remove the moka pot from the heat.

7. Serve and Enjoy

  • Pour the espresso into your favorite cup.
  • Wait a couple of minutes for it to cool slightly, then enjoy your authentic Italian espresso!
