The Story of Virgin Hill Coffee | A Family-Owned Roastery in North Hatley, Quebec
Virgin Hill Coffee began in a small garage on Virgin Hill Road in North Hatley, Quebec, tucked into the heart of the Eastern Townships. What started as a family roasting project gradually grew into a trusted local coffee roastery, built around quality coffee, honest service, and strong community roots.
In 2008, a devastating fire destroyed the original roastery. It was a difficult moment for our family and our business, but it also became a turning point in our story. Instead of walking away, we chose to rebuild and continue doing what we loved. During that process, we came across a vintage 1959 Petroncini coffee roaster hidden away in the Swiss Alps. The machine was carefully restored and brought back to life, and today it remains at the center of our roasting process and part of the character behind every coffee we produce.
A Quebec Coffee Roaster Built on Family and Community
More than twenty years later, Virgin Hill Coffee is still proudly family-owned and operated. From the very beginning, we have believed that great coffee goes beyond what is in the cup. It is about creating lasting relationships with customers, supporting the communities around us, and sharing coffee that people genuinely enjoy drinking every day.
